Trombonist-singer Jay Kortehisto made his debut in the Finnish pop and jazz scene more than two decades ago. Since then, he has featured in more than 200 recordings and numerous TV shows, and toured both domestically and internationally with different artists.

This concert brings you music from Jay’s solo album, released in 2018. With his charismatic voice, Jay will feature as the singer and soloist of Reunion Big Band. The jazzy pop tunes explore the mental map of a middle-aged man, flavoured with melancholia, love and longing.

Burt Bacharach is one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century. His powerful pop ballads are known world-wide, including such hits like What the World Needs Now, Anyone Who Had a Heart, and (They belong to be) Close to you. 

​At the end of May, Reunion Big Band heads to Turku and Porvoo to present these beloved songs with our stunning vocalist Iina Salin. The Look of Love tour offers you the best of Bacharach, with songs that are newly arranged for a big band by Finnish musicians.

Burt Bacharach is one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century. His powerful ballads and pop songs are known world-wide, including such hits like What the world needs now, Anyone who had a heart, and (They belong to be) Close to you. Bacharach’s legendary tunes dominated the Top hits charts in the US in the ‘60s and ‘70s, and were performed by great artists like Dionne Warwick, Dusty Springfield and Tom Jones.

These beloved songs, newly arranged for a big band by Finnish musicians, are now performed by Reunion Big Band with the band of 13 horns, a rhythm section and our shining vocalist Iina Salin.

The concert is supported by Konstsamfundet, Svenska Kulturfonden, William Thurings Stiftelse and Gesellius Fond.
