Big Band Reunion Jazz Festival 2014

The Big Band Reunion Jazz Festival 2014 starts at noon in the Esplanadi park with five big bands. During the day there are many new tunes performed that recently have been written by and for the Big Bands. All five bands have a different and unique personality and sound, with many of today's top players giving their best during the afternoon concerts.

In the evening, the party continues at the "Musiikkitalo" on the "Black Box" stage. From 7pm, there will be dancing to wonderfully re-arranged Finnish standards that unravel into an unexpected salsa-fireworks, it's the songs you know but they sound like nothing you've heard before!

Then there will be traditional Cuban music done in an "old-school" way but arranged for a full Big Band. The Cuban singers promise to take you as close to Havana as is remotely possible!
