Trombonist-singer Jay Kortehisto made his debut in the Finnish pop and jazz scene more than two decades ago. Since then, he has featured in more than 200 recordings and numerous TV shows, and toured both domestically and internationally with different artists.
This concert brings you music from Jay’s solo album, released in 2018. With his charismatic voice, Jay will feature as the singer and soloist of Reunion Big Band. The jazzy pop tunes explore the mental map of a middle-aged man, flavoured with melancholia, love and longing.

The songs are composed by Jay Kortehisto together with Pope Puolitaival. The Finnish lyrics are written by Kanerva Pasanen and Juki Välipakka. The big band arrangements are done by Kortehisto himself.

Reunion Big Band has reunited since 2003. With 17 talented players, Reunion Big Band hops the roof with jazz, swing, soul and latin. The band’s conductor is Martti Vesala, also a trumpetist and a composer.

Tiivistämö is located at the heart of Suvilahti, Helsinki. The closest metro stations are Kalasatama and Sörnäinen. There are two entrances, and they are located in following addresses: Sörnäisten rantatie 22 and Kaasutehtaankatu 1. More information
