To celebrate its 15th birthday, Reunion Big Band will travel across waters to Sweden. Our Nordic tour will include jazz concerts in Växjö and Jönköping, on the 10-11 of May 2019.
The tour's set is highlighted by modern Finnish jazz, also including Reunion Big Band’s exclusive song United! The songs are composed by one of the most well-known professionals of the Finnish jazz scene, such as Eero Koivistoinen, Jukka Linkola and Vellu Halkosalmi.
The tour’s soloist is trumpeter Martti Vesala. Described as “a highly talented young man” by All About Jazz, Vesala is one of the up-and-coming musicians in Finnish jazz, having won acclaim for his instrumental and compositional skills. Martti is also Reunion Big Band's conductor.
The Swedish tour is supported by Svenska Kulturfonden, Konstsamfundet, William Thurings Foundation and Foundation Emilie and Rudolf Gesellius Fund.
